September 16th

I found a lot of these articles really interesting. The first one I came upon was about students learning how to pull all nighters and still function the next day. I do not really agree with what this article is saying because it is almost saying that it is okay to pull all nighters and still work in the morning. It also says that if you are able to do all of these things at once, then you can handle a lot on your plate. I do not think that this is necessarily true. If you are good at handling a lot of things on your plate, then you should not have to be staying up all night to get things done. If you are good time manager, then you will start doing things ahead of time and not cram at the end. Also if you stay up really late, the next day, you are not going to be at your optimum work level and therefore will not put as much effort into the next project.

The second article about people taking off their wedding bands to go into to an interview really surprised me. I never considered this before reading this article. I do not think that you should ever take of your wedding band to get a job because you want the employer to know about your life style in order to see if you fit for the job. If you are married and do not get a job because of it, then you probably should not be doing it in the first place.

I really agree with the article about the pre-test for a job. It says that if you lie on the pre-test and get the job, you may have to live up to standards that are not like you. If you can not be yourself at work, then you are never going to be happy. If you are honest and don't get the job, then you are better off because you will know the job wasn't meant for you.

"If you are good at handling a lot of things on your plate, then you should not have to be staying up all night to get things done." - Amen! When I was in my 20s, I could do the all nighter thing, but in my 30s, I find it impossible.
